  • Why is it Important to Get Your Hearing Tested?

Regardless of your age, if you feel like you are struggling to hear people you may have unidentified hearing loss. There are many reason you could be experiencing a decrease in hearing. If you are asking people to repeat parts of the conversation or you are struggling to hear in noisy places, like family gatherings or eating out with friends, you need a hearing evaluation. Those people who are most "At Risk" for hearing loss are people who have had a severe illness, people older than 60, people who have a history of noise exposure such as construction or recreational hobbies (music, sports, hunting). Everyone should have a baseline hearing evaluation. If you are a candidate for hearing aids, we will provide you with information regarding advanced hearing technology that is right for you.

  • What Does a Diagnostic Hearing Evaluation Include?

Every home visit is personalized to address the unique needs of the person being tested. Our audiologist will conduct the most appropriate hearing test to determine your hearing capability. The goal is to determine the level of your hearing and your ability to understanding speech. Our comprehensive evaluation includes:

    • Otoscopy (ear examination)

    • Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation

    • Speech Audiometry

    • Tympanometry/Acoustic Immittance

    • Hearing Counseling

    • Additional testing can be added as needed

Using the information gathered during the examination, our audiologist will be able to formulate a diagnosis, explain the test results, and provide treatment options including hearing aid technology. While most testing can be performed in the home, not all environments are quiet enough for testing. We promise to make the appropriate referrals in a timely manner.
